SUMMARY:Empower Cameroon/Africa Girls and Women as Leaders
DESCRIPTION:Summary \nCameroon women face many social\, political and economic barriers. I am stronger (IAS) breaks these barriers through a non-residential\, development program for 20 young Cameroon women focused on leadership\, soft skills\, social entrepreneurship\, and advocacy. At the end of the program\, participants emerge with a strong network of young Cameroon female leaders\, mentors\, a certificate of participation\, newly acquired skills and implemented social impact programs in their communities. \nChallenge\nDespite progress in gender equality\, Cameroon and Africa continues to be a continent where adolescent girls\, young and older women face challenges and barriers. Startling challenges such as\, 13 of the 15 countries worldwide where more than 30% of primary school-aged girls are out of school are in Cameroon. To commemorate the UN international Day of Peace\, MasterPeace Cameroon and Host organisation Hope for a better future (H4BF) presents a critical opportunity to close this gap with younger generations of Cameroon women through easily accessible education and skills development.\nSolution\nMasterPeace Cameroon and Host organisation Hope for a better future (H4BF) program closes this gap by offering Cameroon adolescent girls and young women skills development through a day’s workshop with 10 modules to empower these women to transform their lives and their communities. Modules: 1. What is my Why? Who am I? 2. Self-Esteem Building 3. Soft Skills Building 4. Career Development 5. Youth Leadership in Cameroon and Africa 6. African Feminisms 7. African Identity 8. Youth Advocacy 9. Social Entrepreneurship 10. Implementing Community Projects.\nLong-Term Impact\nThis program will educate and upskill 20 young Cameron women from North West\, South West\, littoral and West regions of Cameroon with skills and tools to become better leaders and positively influence their communities.
