CLIMATE EMERGENCY PROJECT

Cameroon women are the backbone of the economy —they are in charge of farming, preparing produce, among others, yet they wake up and go to bed without reliable electricity. The lack of a safe and reliable source of energy exacerbates the existing power imbalance between male and females in Cameroon. Women are overwhelmed with heavy domestic roles left to them such as cooking among others. These roles could be performed well and much easier with reliable energy. In addition, the women purchase candles and kerosene to use at night, they pay some money to the power owners to be able to charge phones, while children do revision at night using candles, all these deter effectiveness and safety. The inadequacy of power contributes to women’s vulnerability to family violence and limits effectiveness in their roles as home caretakers, yet they are the ones running small businesses and as mothers and frontline community members, they are in a unique position to interact with communities and hence should be at the center of the efforts to improve energy improvement. The women could even do better if they worked together as teams to challenge these setbacks.

This project is focus on supporting crisis affected local women who are IDPs and host community members with durable, solar-powered products and clean cooking stoves in order to enable them have access to clean at and safe energy for lighting, cooking, heating and processing and as well enable them to reduce emission of GHG and deforestation, increase care for natural resources and fight climate change. Time and energy invested in sourcing for fuel will be used to reinvested in income generating activities therefore improving the quality of life of beneficiaries, implying good health and sustainable environment.

Also, in Partnership with MASTERPEACE COOL, we are using innovative and creative means and also developing Climate leadership amongst youth and children and motivating people to take practical actions in their communities

INVEST IN WOMEN / INVEST IN COMMUNITIES

H4BF Network model brings together workforce development and comprehensive social supports to put a woman on a path to economic security and remove any barrier that might stand in her way.
H4BF is putting this model to begin work within North West and West regions neighborhood ripe for opportunity:
H4BF Women’s Initiative starts with a single, low-income working mother and a keen understanding of what support she needs to move into a living-wage job and create a better, safer life for herself and her children.
H4BF Women’s Initiative is a place-based, community-led coalition of agencies working together to address the full spectrum of women’s needs: from access to affordable housing and credit clean-up, to domestic violence services and emotional support, while also providing job skills training and small business development.
When women rise, they bring families and whole communities with them

How to Give

Create impact that will transform lives, families and communities in Cameroon

WELL BEING AND MENTAL HEALTH

Having good mental health, or being mentally healthy, is more than just the absence of illness, rather it’s a state of overall wellbeing. The concept is influenced by culture, but it generally relates to: Enjoyment of life. Having the ability to cope with and ‘bounce back’ from stress and sadness.

We believes that the core of a happy and fulfilled life is Inner Peace reason we mainstream in all our programs training of beneficiaries on simple techniques about developing skills of inner peace
